Mesmer is probably the only class I don't fall asleep on while PvEing.

But yeah, in terms of power, nothing will match up to necro obviously. You had a warlock in WoW too, didn't you? Imba class addict. :P

Can I ask how many games your company has made that have been as successful as Guild Wars?

No offence.

My warrior is my main character and I have a great time with her. I switch out her skills for different areas just to enjoy the change.

The dervish I created for NF, I found to be very boring in the end no matter how I changed the build.

Oh, be quiet.

To be honest, I'm leaning more toward Mesmer myself. I just like casters.

But waiting until the PvE/PvP split happens would be a good idea, as stated.

If you're set on playing your rit but dislike playing a Resto/channeling hybrid, wait and see if they revert the nerfs to spirits or you can try a [Spirit's Strength] build (Rt/P or Rt/R for survivability, Rt/A for crazy damage) with [weapon of aggression], [vital weapon] or have an ally toss [great dwarf weapon] on you every now and then.

I actually find it somewhat funny to play assassin in PvE. My opinion:

Warrior, boring and solid.

Monk, boring and frustrating with stupid AI.

Mesmer, funny even though their skills are not that great for PvE. Good thing about mesmers is that c+space doesn't work. You have to think, interrupt and so on.

Dervish is okay.

Really, find a mate a play through hard mode, that is somewhat challenging at times. Vanquishing is enormously boring, especially alone. Really, playing alone sucks, no matter what you do. I only play GW when I can play with friends now.

I've found the warriors and protection monks show the greatest correlation between player ability and character effect and as such are the most rewarding to play in the long run.

So...how exactly would I do that? My primary character, a Necromancer of course, has beaten most of the game anyways. (Protector of all 3 continents, I don't care about Hard Mode). However, when I play as another character, I feel much, much weaker, so it's annoying.

I've tried a Ranger, Elementalist, Ritualist, Monk...nothing has stuck for me in terms of paralleling my Necromancer. I refuse to try an Assassin or Paragon (both seem boring in PvE and broken in PvP), so I guess my only options of creating a Dervish, Warrior, or Mesmer.

I have no clue how to enjoy Guild Wars again. Obviously, I've been angry at ArenaNet for their lack of competance...but hey, it's free, and you get what you pay for.

I do have 200k in storage to buffer up any character I have or might make, and I will buy EotN soon.

What should I be doing?
I'll bet you 50 gold that your boredom with the game is a lot more serious than a mere change of class can cure. Really, do you think hacking through the same ol' crap again is going to be fun for you?

As you said, you have no idea how to enjoy GW anymore. Nothing that you're doing right now is going to change that...

Warrior I think

Very fun, very versatile and they make good PvPers too! It just looks so cool when they're in RA with full glads, dyed PINK! ;D

Hey there Zinger,

I am replaying Guild Wars as we speak, not because I have a new computer or anything, I am making this on my secondary account that only has prophecies + faction. which I plan to purchase Nightfall whenever Guild Wars decided to have a sale where I can get.

okay, I wanted to replay characters on this account because I want a "perfect" characters on it including max survivor title and all the pve titles, so far I've made 3, and my advise to you is:

Play a profession that you don't think you like or are comfortable playing. because I think eventually you will get to love playing them (all profession as I have discovers) you must play it as if you have never play guild wars before and to do that you got to play a profession that is your least likely choice, if you start a necro again, its will be very easy, and will be the same since you already know what to expect.

Also, start from Shing Jea Monastary. It is much faster reaching level 20s. It will gives you a boost when you are not playing your favourite profession, and will take out the "why is it taking so long - drag" out of the equation.

Another thing, now that you know all about playing Guild Wars, you can apply those when you start a new characters, things like pop-ups, this usually kill someone's character that is going for survivor when they least expects it, and you will now know to make "max-armor" whenever possible, I think Guild Wars place armor maker at different points is telling players "its time to change to a higher armor, armor", anyway, you know, little things, then there's the challenge of making build out of very little skills.

now that is going to be fun. finding skill to put on your skill bar. well 3 years ago that would be even harder, but now since you are a veteran GW players, you should know from playing a necromancer, what are the skills you fear most from other professions, use those on your new character. well at least that's what i've been doing.

Have fun!

This is a very subjective thing, personally the only class I didnt have much fun playing was monk.

I would think the closest to Necro in similar variety of builds would be Ritualist. They have a wide array of builds to suit most any role in a party. They can be a nuker, spike dmg dealer, party buffer, spirit spamer, ect...

It does take more effort to find the right skill combo that works for you and allows for good energy managment, far more work than the Necro.

I have a battery Ritualist skill bar, its not that hard to make, in my opinion, ritualist has more energy return using skill combo then necro's soul reaping in my opinion. (after the nerf that is)

my oh my, the cynic returns.

If you are genuinely looking for a new profession to play and are not being sarcastic, I'd say play a Ritualist. You said you like casters, so that's basically your only option without going monk or elementalist (seeing how it has to be not a necro).

Even after the nerfs to spirits, Ritualists are solid support with channeling-restoration hybrids. Like warriors, the primary attribute is not vital for operation other than the skills.

It's worse than that. Zinger has an insatiable superiority complex that leaves him unable to refrain from crawling out from under the bridge and trying to create the monthly shitstorm. If he were truly here for help and guidance, he would drop the attitude.

I wouldn't recommend doing mesmer if you are looking for PvE. Although I love the class dearly, its not very effective for it.
